The Courage Project was founded by a group of families dedicated to raising and educating our children and serving our communities—all while managing the many demands of daily life. Despite the busyness of life, we felt a calling to take on this initiative because we believe it is both timely and essential.
We have seen the war of ideas unfold in our society and have chosen to engage. In a time when the very foundations of family and freedom are questioned, and when protecting and providing for our loved ones grows increasingly difficult, The Courage Project exists to build and strengthen a community of men and women who share core values.
Our mission is to equip and inspire individuals to grow—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—so they can better protect, provide for, and lead their families and communities with resilience and purpose.
The Courage Project logo is a modern artistic interpretation of the historic crest of the Scottish Stewart clan. This crest, together with the Latin motto "Virescit Vulnere Virtus", adorned the shields and banners that our ancestors lived and died under for centuries. While this history holds special personal meaning for us, the values it represents transcend lineage and resonate with anyone who stands firm in their beliefs during uncertain times.
The motto, "Virescit Vulnere Virtus," translates to "Courage Grows Strong at a Wound." It reflects a timeless truth: adversity strengthens us. Whether in physical, mental, or emotional battles, courage is forged and refined through hardship. The more we engage in the battles around us, the less we fear them.
At the center of the crest is the pelican. According to ancient European beliefs, the pelican would pierce its own breast to feed its young with its blood when food was scarce. This bird was a powerful symbol of giving everything for the next generation, even to the point of suffering or death.
We chose to adopt this crest and motto for The Courage Project because they embody both our heritage and the principles that guide our mission. We have found that our modern culture has become increasingly hostile towards anything that is true or good, and it seeks to crush anyone who does not immediately comply with its outrageous demands. Although this has been challenging, it has had a positive impact. The demands placed on us have become so absurd that we can no longer remain silent. We do not seek conflict, but we live our values regardless of the consequences. In doing so, we’ve discovered a community of like-minded individuals, warriors from all walks of life who quietly hold to traditional values that protect their families and benefit their communities.
This connection inspired the founding of The Courage Project. Our mission is to support and connect these courageous men and women, whether they are military, law enforcement, or switched-on civilians, by providing encouragement, community, and of course, the best tactical combat blades available. If these values resonate with you, we invite you to join us. Follow our journey on Instagram, and together, let’s continue to build a community rooted in courage and conviction.
God bless, and stay sharp.
